Bitmoji Virtual Classroom Expectations

Picture
Bitmoji has been the hype lately for a lot of educators. I'm not an exception. I created a basic Virtual Class Expectations sheet using Canva. You can create your own with the template link below.

Make sure to upgrade your account to an Educator account with school email. It will unlock Pro features - FREE! It's been a huge lifesaver! You might have to apply a few times before you finally get approved.

I put together a quick simple video with out you can get started with Bitmoji and Canva. You can view it here.

There's also a Part 2 video on Canva basics. You can view it here.

Virtual Relationship Building Activities

A Google Form sent out to students ahead of time as an opportunity for them to introduce themselves and ask any questions.
Pre-Class Check-In
A "First Week of School" Slide Deck that includes introductions and community building activities.
First Week of School Google Deck
Students would take up a slide and answer some questions about themselves. This is used in lieu of index cards/equity cards.
Class Introduction Google Slides
Use this Spinner to get students to tell you more about themselves. This is used in lieu of the "Ball Game" icebreaker. Use the one below or edit your own.
Community Building Spinner
Meant as an introduction to Google Jamboard for students. It also lets you anonymously collect student thoughts on certain questions you pose.
First Week Google Jamboard
This is a continuation of a journal assignment from Spring 2020 when schools first closed. Students will document their thoughts throughout distance learning as living historians, creating their own primary source. Useful and reflective for a history or social science class.
Distance Learning Journal Assignment
Using Breakout Rooms, put students into groups and have them work together to solve a common goal. No matter what we do in life, we can always come together to solve problems.
Goals Community Building Jamboard
Give students an opportunity to create a virtual background for you using Google Slides. Learn more a bit about them. Save slide as a .png or .jpg then upload onto Zoom to use!
Create Virtual Background for Teacher
For use at the beginning of class while admitting students and taking attendance. Students can respond in the chat while they wait for class to start.

*Not necessarily meant to be educational. Just as a using it as an social-emotional check-in with students. In times like this, we all just need to have a little fun and be understanding*
